The Gratitude project- The rules are simple. Every day between Lammas and Mabon one must find something to be grateful for in life. No repeats - one can be grateful to people more than once, but it has be for different reasons.

Today I am grateful for York's Public Transit system...I have used it in the past when we've had no vehicle but this time I'm having to rely on it more than I did before...I am grateful that I can maneuver very easily from one bus to the next and get my kid to school and get my stuff done during the day without having to bug all my friends to take me everywhere...

have you ever noticed that when you buy your kids' school clothes, the only size that is sold out is the size you friggin need??? That happens to me EVERY year...Apparently every female child in york city wears a 10 Slim this year...

But I did manage to find her 2 more jumpers and 4 shirts...brings the total up to 6 jumpers and 8 shirts...and a plethora of socks, undies and a really pretty cardigan...I also got all her school supplies situated and most I got were 80% or more recycled materials *pretty damn sweet* *and her sneakers are made from recycled soda bottles*, this will please her to no end cause she's really big on "going green"...

Why do they have to grow so fast???? WHY WHY WHY???? I would be a wealthy woman by now if it wasn't for having to buy my kids new clothes every month or so...

in half an hour I have to run for the bus stop to go get her...hopefully the rain holds off til we get home...

Do any of you have within your path/practices a time *other than for rites of passage or initiation* when you give something up, fasting/abstinence/etc. Is there a reason behind it? What is it?

A friend reminded me that Ramadan starts for the Muslim faith within the next day or so. I'm wondering if any pagan paths do this as well and what the reasons are behind it...

I fast before performing each sabbat from dinner the night before until the sabbat feasting begins. I also fast and abstain before performing elevations and dedications.
